Foil Blocking Information
Foil blocking of a logo involves transferring an image to the paper surface by a combination of heat and pressure. In order to foil block an image on to the paper, the following components are required - a printing block (also known as a 'die'), some foil which carries the pigment and a machine to complete the process. The block is mounted on the printing machine and heated to the correct temperature. The paper is then positioned on the table of the machine. The two are then brought together with some pressure, and with the foil between. The combination of heat and pressure releases the pigment from the foil and transfers the image to the paper.
Any of our stock boxes can be foil blocked with a logo (1 colour only) in 1 position (minimum order quantity is 1 pack of boxes) for the following additional costs:
Foil blocking set up (£20.00 per box size / per design, payable on every order)
Foil blocking: £0.25 per box (payable on every order)
Foil blocking die @ £48.00 (one-off cost for first order, unless subsequent orders have a change to the artwork)
The maximum foil blocking area is 100 x 75mm.
